Celebrating the ultimate in High Jewelry creation in over 100 years, Van Cleef & Arpels proudly unveils “Timeless Beauty” at Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Shanghai.

Van Cleef & Arpels unveils the Maison’s largest heritage exhibition at the MOCA in Shanghai, China. - Samuel Kung, JP Raffarin, Gong LI, Stanislas de QuercizeEvoking the Maison’s High Jewelry spirit of Nature, Femininity, Exoticism and Elegance, the official Grand Opening of the Maison’s first exhibition in China was held on 19 May 2012.

Spanning over 100 years of history, Van Cleef & Arpels “Timeless Beauty” is the largest heritage exhibition of the Maison, showcasing over 370 creations from Van Cleef & Arpels’ archive collection, plus pieces on loan from private collectors all around the world, for a debut in China. Spectacular pieces encapsulating the historical journey of the Maison includes a highlight of iconic pieces.

Set in a dreamlike scenography designed by Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku, the creations are presented through a journey: each visitor will have the opportunity to discover the Maison’s unparalleled craftsmanship, creativity and poetry, passed on by generations of Mains d’Or (Golden Hands) and inspired by the exceptional Pierres de Caractère (Stones of Character).

Fan Bing bingVan Cleef & Arpels President & CEO Mr. Stanislas de Quercize, along with former French Prime Minister and Vice-President of the French Senate Mr. Jean-Pierre Raffarin, officially opened “Timeless Beauty” in a ribbon cutting ceremony which also included General Manager of Van Cleef & Arpels China Ms. Laura Lai, Vice President & Creative Director of Van Cleef & Arpels Mr. Nicolas Bos, the Chairman & Director of MOCA Mr. Samuel Kung, French Consul General of Shanghai Mr. Emmanuel Lenain, and internationally renowned Chinese actress, Ms. Gong Li at the unveiling ceremony.

On this historical evening, other leading Chinese artists including Ms. Fan Bingbing, Ms. Zhang Jingchu, Ms. Qin Lan, Ms. Song Jia, Mr. & Mrs. Tong Daiwei and Taiwanese actress Pace Wu sparkled on the red carpet at the Grand Opening of “Timeless Beauty”.

Van Cleef & Arpels “Timeless Beauty” exhibition will be on view at the MOCA in Shanghai from 20 May until 15 July 2012.
