Shake Shack & Chef Neil Rankin Unveil their Vegan Crispy Shallot Burger

Shake Shack is introducing Shack fans and vegan friends to the Vegan Crispy Shallot Burger, a bespoke patty created in collaboration with Chef Neil Rankin, topped with smoky cheddar, beer-marinated crispy shallots, lettuce, and tangy Dijonnaise sauce on a toasted potato bun – all 100% vegan.

April 12th will be a day to celebrate for many working in the hospitality industry. One such company is Shake Shack, a modern-day “roadside” burger stand known for its 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, chicken sandwiches and flat-top German beef dogs, spun-fresh frozen custard, milkshakes, crinkle-cut fries, craft beer and wine and more.

Chef Neil Rankin has helped pioneer high-end barbeque cooking in the UK, and from April 12th, his unique take on the ideal vegan burger will be available at all the Shake Shacks for outdoor dining, takeaway and delivery for a limited time only.

The Vegan Crispy Shallot Burger is made from roasted mushrooms and onion, miso, bulgur wheat and a blend of spices. Chef Neil Rankin and Jim Frisch, Shake Shack Director of Culinary + Product Development, have developed a vegan patty that is deeply savoury, with a subtle smokiness.

Chef Neil Rankin said: “With Shake Shack being a big influencer with my own plant-based burger journey, it was surreal and an honour to be involved in developing something original for them to use. I’ve always been a believer in umami, smoke, and spice is the key to living our best life, and this is the ethos on which the patty is founded.
