Scottish Whisky Tasting Flights Land at SCHLOSS Roxburghe, in Kelso

In celebration of World Whisky Day on 17th May, historic manor house hotel SCHLOSS Roxburghe in Kelso is offering guests a curated selection of three new self-guided whisky-tasting flights inspired by the Scottish regions.

Hosted in the sophisticated Bar 1745, surrounded by the personal book collection of the manor’s former owner, the Duke of Roxburghe, this experience invites both whisky newcomers and aficionados to savour Scotland’s finest whiskies.

The three flights each offer a distinct tasting experience:

  • Turas (Journey) guides guests through Scotland’s whisky regions, highlighting the varied character of Lowland, Speyside, and Campbeltown varieties, which range from light and approachable notes to richer, more complex profiles.
  • Leigheas (Remedy) delivers soothing sweetness with rich, fruity selections from the Highlands and Speyside – perfect for those who like their whisky indulgent.
  • Mòineach (Peat) is a bold choice for those drawn to intense, smoky flavours, featuring peated whiskies from Islay and beyond.

Each flight of three whiskies (£50) is accompanied by tasting cards offering detailed insights into the origins and flavour profiles of each dram. While this is a self-guided experience, guests seeking a deeper dive may opt for a Guided Whisky Tasting led by one of the hotel’s whisky experts (prices from £50).
