With two-thirds of UK adults leaving their loved ones at risk, Will Aid 2025 offers a chance to write or update your Will while supporting vital charities. Booking is now open—don’t miss out.
Every year, Will Aid surveys UK adults to see how many have made a Will—and every year, the findings are as surprising as they are concerning. Despite the obvious importance, a staggering two-thirds of people remain unprotected. Will Aid’s 2025 research reveals that 66% of UK adults either don’t have a Will or have one that’s out of date, putting their families at risk of delays, disputes, and unnecessary hardship when the worst happens.
What’s more, misconceptions abound. More than half—56%—are unaware that marriage or remarriage automatically cancels a Will in England and Wales. Without updating their Will after such life changes, estates may be divided according to the Rules of Intestacy, often contrary to loved ones’ wishes. Cohabiting couples face additional uncertainty, with 68% unaware that, without a Will, cohabiting partners don’t automatically inherit.
Thankfully, Will Aid is working to change this. Every November, a partnership of UK solicitors teams up with eight leading charities, waiving their usual fees for a basic Will.
Instead, clients are invited to make a voluntary donation—typically £120 for a single Will or £200 for a pair of mirror Wills. Appointments can be in person or remote, making it easier than ever to take this important step.
Will Aid 2025 is now open for bookings, and demand is already strong. Because slots are limited, booking early is essential.

Peter de Vena Franks (above), Will Aid’s Campaign Director, sums it up: “Every year, thousands put their affairs in order through Will Aid, raising vital funds for charity at the same time. But appointments fill fast. With so many unprotected adults and persistent myths around marriage and cohabitation, now is the time to act. Book early, get expert advice, and give yourself and your loved ones real peace of mind.”
Writing or updating a Will is the best way to make sure your wishes are carried out—especially after major life events like marriage, divorce, or welcoming new children or step-family members. November’s Will Aid campaign helps lower the cost barrier while ensuring professional guidance.
