The sustainable e-commerce platform Aequem has joined the Conscious Fashion Campaign as a retail partner to highlight the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and educate consumers on their purchasing power to create positive social change.

The company was founded in 2018 by female entrepreneurs, Ieva Balciute and Magda Daniloaia to prove fashion-forward garments can be made in a way that helps to achieve a better and more sustainable future. Over recent months, Ieva and Magda have worked closely with Kerry Bannigan of the Conscious Fashion Campaign to ensure that every brand on the platform aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. It is highly likely Aequem is the first multilabel fashion website to fully implement them across its platform.

What is The Conscious Fashion Campaign?
The Conscious Fashion Campaign is supported by the United Nations Office for Partnerships. It aims to harness the power of retail and the media to help address the world’s most pressing issues: poverty, protecting the planet and ensure prosperity for all.

Kerry Bannigan, the founder of the Conscious Fashion Campaign: “Fashion can be a powerful agent for change. Aequem shares the same innovative vision and is truly committed to influencing positive change through education and transparency. Together, the fashion community can shift the needle of the $2.4 trillion industry to ensure that nobody is left behind as we accelerate change towards our sustainable future.”

What is Aequem?
Aequem is a community providing a platform for consumers to discover the change-makers of conscious fashion. The company curates cutting edge brands that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in order to drive conscious consumerism; highlighting critical issues including protecting the planet, practicing sustainability, ending poverty and overall re-defining fashion as we know it.

One of the most outstanding features of Aequem is their goal to provide full transparency about the products, how they are made and set an example for the fashion industry going forward; selecting labels that are not only socially responsible but also environmentally friendly.
