The Aston Martin DB11 has been voted “Most Beautiful Car 2017”, winning the prestigious and much coveted Golden Steering Wheel award from Axel Springer

An esteemed jury of designers, engineers, racers, celebrities and journalists from across Europe selected the DB11 from a choice of 20 cars that came to market in 2017.

Aston Martin President and CEO, Dr. Andy Palmer, received the award from Marion Horn (Editor in Chief BILD am Sonntag) and Tom Drechsler (Editor in Chief AUTO BILD) at the awards ceremony held at the Axel Springer SE headquarters in Berlin.

After the ceremony, Palmer, said: “We aspire to make the most beautiful cars in the world and are incredibly proud of the Aston Martin DB11, a car that spearheads our Second Century plan. Exceptional design runs through the bloodline of the DB models and every part of the DB11 is crafted to create the most beautiful DB to date. To receive the award for “Most Beautiful Car” is a testament to the skill and dedication of the designers and employees of Aston Martin who work tirelessly to combine exceptional design with the latest technology.”

The new DB11 is the first in a line of seven new models to be launched over the next seven years, in line with the company’s ‘Second Century Plan’, which takes the 103-year-old company into its next century of operation. The DB11 is the latest model from the illustrious ‘DB’ bloodline for which Aston Martin is so famous.

The Aston Martin DB11 has received rave reviews since its launch at the Geneva Motor Show in March. To date, 1000’s orders for the new DB11 have been received and they will all be hand-built at the company’s sports car production plant and headquarters, in Gaydon, Warwickshire. Earlier this year, Aston Martin announced the company’s second UK manufacturing facility will open in St Athan in Wales where the new crossover will be built.
