Ball Watches has launched the Roadmaster Pilot GMT with some superb features to benefit the wearer. The company is constantly creating innovative pieces, and I applaud this as it moves the industry forward. They combine years of experience with the latest materials and technology, and you can see why their timepieces are in demand.

Limited to One Thousand pieces, you will need to quickly purchase one, as I see demand being high for the new Roadmaster Pilot GMT. It is aimed as it is labelled for Pilots or for those that happen to travel a lot. Ball has designed two functions to aid the wearer when travelling; the first is a convenient change of time zone feature. You can push the quick-set buttons to jump the local 12-hour hand to its desired position without stopping the second hand.

This eliminates the need to move the crown and change the hour hand through a complete revolution. Once the correct hour is set, turning the crown moves the date to the correct reading.

Conveniently for the wearer, the 8 o’clock quick-set button moves the local time backwards, and the 10 o’clock quick-set button advances the local time forward. The GMT has a triangular-tipped hand that remains unchanged, indicating your home or reference time, so you are always aware of the correct hour. The two buttons are secured through a screw lock, preventing unintentional use.

The Roadmaster Pilot GMT comes with a ceramic bezel that is virtually scratchproof, ideal for wearers continually travelling as you do not want your timepiece sullied. The case is 40mm in diameter, which bucks the trend for larger watches; this is suitable if you choose to be less conspicuous.

Twenty-eight fantastic micro gas lights light up your view for precise observation of the dial in the dark; Ball utilises tritium gas technology that stands out as unique in watchmaking. The revolutionary tubes are featured at hour markers on the dial, the local hour hand, the GMT hand, and the minute hand.

You can easily read three-time zones in total darkness due to the ceramic bezel’s Super-LumiNova coating. The dome is made with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, as is the case back, allowing you to see the workings.

The watch has a tough but light Titanium and SS bracelet, and you can get rubber, calf or a NATO strap if you wish to change the look at any stage. The Pilot GMT is water-resistant to 1000ft / 300m, so you can explore to plenty of depth if you want to go swimming with it.

The Roadmaster Pilot GMT is an elegant watch that can be worn daily due to its robust build and superior materials such as Titanium for the case and bracelet. It is a genuine Chronometer and desirable with its non-complex dial, which is easy to read at a glance.

The new features are practical, and I can see them used a great deal. You get a quality watch and functions for a reasonable price, making it a lovely addition to any collection or as a stand-alone watch. The Pilot GMT stands out from other watches currently available with its impressive features and ability to shine brightly in the dark.
