Only opened in September 2022, Borgo San Vincenzo is a boutique hotel that is hidden away in Italy’s Tuscan hills. Although new to the hospitality scene, it has forced itself to the surface, garnering significant attention from the dedicated travel press.

Places where you can escape the stresses and strains of the world, have become increasingly popular in recent years. Atop many travellers lists are the words solace, wellness and nature, and all of these things can be found in abundance in Italy’s Tuscan Hills.

Although one might be armed with a list of requirements, finding a beautiful property that meets your requirements is often difficult. On the flip side, if you’re an owner of a property that is ideal and decide you want to share it with others, it’s even tougher to get noticed.

However, this doesn’t seem to have been a problem for Borgo San Vincenzo, which has recently made Travel and Leisure’s list of the hundred most exciting hotel openings globally.

Shannon Kircher, the founder of Borgo San Vincenzo, said, “This acknowledgement is especially meaningful as Borgo San Vincenzo brings together a dynamic, young international team with so much passion for hospitality and for the region. Borgo San Vincenzo was born out of a love of hospitality and wine tourism, as well as our desire to create a welcoming space for our guests to enjoy while discovering this spectacular region.”

Borgo means Hamlet, and San Vincenzo is the patron saint of winemaking, so you get the Hamlet dedicated to San Vincent, which dates from the 18th century. The Borgo has been transformed but keeps the charm of the original period. It celebrates the region’s vibrant culture, historic wine scene, and legacy of gracious hospitality. The hotel is located in Montepulciano’s most prestigious Vino Nobile vineyards, providing stunning scenery and plenty of wildlife to see.

When you stay at the Borgo San Vincenzo, you will find the staff dedicated to making your holiday special. They will connect you with locals, events and places that show you the real Tuscany, which will grab your heart. From the property, you can participate in wine experiences, take in UNESCO-protected vistas, and have a tailor-made itinerary to make the most of the region.

Borgo San Vincenzo offers a fresh take on a traditional rustic countryside feel with twenty-one luxury studios and suites boasting views of the Tuscan countryside. The on-site restaurant prepares local classics for you, and when you are not eating all the gorgeous food, you can relax on the sun deck or around the pool. The hotel has a wine cellar perfect for private tastings or intimate dinners, and an outdoor terrace with a fire pit, allowing you to enjoy evenings al fresco.

Guests also have access to a Concierge who can provide many services and organise all types of events. In the local area, there is Olive Oil tasting and pecorino cheese tasting at nearby farms, wine tasting at the vineyards, and cooking classes using local ingredients. For more adventurous activities, tours can be taken on Vespas, walking, e-bikes, horses or even by hot air balloon.
