Michelin Starred Chef Carlo Cracco is one of the best-kept secrets on the gastronomy scene. However, he won’t be for too much longer. On June 5th, he’ll be hosting a live event on Zoom discussing the reopening of his restaurant and how the hospitality industry can recover in Italy with its localised approach.

For those unfamiliar with Carlo Cracco, he’s a Michelin-starred chef and considered a pioneer in progressive Italian cuisine. It’s his take on classic Italian foods with Milanese traditions, modern tastes and aesthetics that singles him out as a cut above other chefs.

After garnering praise for his skills in some of the finest restaurants in Europe, he now showcases his talents in his restaurant Cracco which is located in the prestigious Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan.

Cracco’s restaurant is one of the few to have already reopened its doors. The restaurant opened on the 25th of May, after being forced to close on the 10th March. With the business a bit up in the air, Cracco shifted his focus to his online store Cracco Express, delivering tomato/pasta kits, fresh pastry & cake, chocolate and wine to Italians stuck at home.

To show the measure of the man, during Italy’s lockdown, Cracco served up free meals for bricklayers and carpenters working on the construction of the new intensive care unit in Milan. It’s hard to envisage many other Michelin-starred chefs doing the same.

Now you know something about this rather special chef, let’s look at some of the ways you can get to know him even better.

Travel with Cracco
In June 2021, Carlo Cracco will be sharing his love of travel, reminding us why Italy is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and at the forefront of the international gastronomy scene. He is inviting a small group of guests to join him on the Sicilian island of Pantelleria, known as the black pearl of the Mediterranean located between Sicily and Tunisia.

The trip includes accommodation at award-winning boutique hotel Sikelia with a 4-day gastronomy experience exploring local food and wine. This is an incredible and unique opportunity to meet Cracco himself and learn about the master of modern Italian cuisine. You can apply to join the experience here.
