‘Trains are wonderful… to travel by train is to see nature and human beings, towns… and rivers, in fact, to see life’ –  Agatha Christie

When you think about the Eastern and Oriental Express, what springs to mind? For me its a picture of pure opulence, or perhaps the most suitable word being Luxurious! Lashings of panelled wood, brass and gilt, heavy set curtains and materials, well dressed, amnicured and  mannered people, a luxurious time capsule in its purest form. In my younger days I had a wish list of ways to travel when I became ‘rich and famous’, one day this day will come! When I sat at my desk and thought about sea travel, the QE2 came to mind, for air travel it was the Concorde and without any doubt, the first name in luxurious train travel had to be the Eastern and Oriental Express.

The golden age of travel lives on aboard the Eastern & Oriental Express luxury train. Winding through some of the world’s most beautiful and exotic landscapes, it voyages through Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, and on into Laos. Mountains, forests, fascinating towns and golden temples create a rich tapestry of life along the way.

This sister train to the Eastern and Oriental Express is Europe’s Venice Simplon-Orient-Express that offers an equally exciting on-board experience. Enjoy gourmet dining, cocktails in the open-air observation car and special local entertainment as your adventure unfolds.
