Crowd-funded company, Good & Proper Tea, are set to open their second loose leaf tea room on London’s Leather Lane

On 7th April, loose-leaf tea gurus Good & Proper Tea, will open their second artisan tea room on Leather Lane. Lead by founder and tea-lover Emilie Holmes, Good & Proper Tea serves luxury loose-leaf tea in chic Japanese cups and saucers. Their carefully chosen line-up will include black, oolong, green and white teas – as well as unique herbs teas too.

And because good cuppas and crumpets go hand-in-hand, Good & Proper Tea will sell a selection of delicious homemade crumpets (trust us, they’re delicious), including buttermilk sourdough, rye and gluten-free, with more goodies to choose from at breakfast and lunchtime.

Good & Proper Tea are one of the first UK companies to be successfully crowd-funded, reaching £14,682 in just 5 days. The Leather Lane store will be their second success story, to join the original on Old Street.

Emilie and the team have travelled the world to handpick their high-grade teas, choosing only those with a distinct character. During transportation, the tea leaves are handled with great care to keep their delicate flavour intact once they reach your cup.

G&P Tea are also the first tea room in London to use the Steampunk Brewer. This high-tech kettle allows tea baristas to choose time, temperature and agitation level for each type of leaf.

Founder Emilie says, “London’s coffee culture is really exciting – there are amazing baristas out there all geared up to prepare your perfect cup of coffee, but I couldn’t understand why tea had missed a trick, so I wanted to give the good old cup of tea a bit of love and make it a Good and Proper one finally!”
