The world is currently going through one of the more stressful times in its long and storied history, and this is causing countless people to want to head off to somewhere they can unwind and shut off. One place you can do this is Gut Nisdorf, located 17 km northwest of the Hanseatic city of Stralsund.

Some holidaymakers will lean towards glitz, music, and partying, while others prefer somewhere more peaceful and tranquil. I, for one, sit in the latter camp, which is why Gut Nisdorf seems like the ideal place to forget the world’s woes and rediscover some inner balance.

Some of the things making Gut Nisdorf so attractive is it sits in a peaceful natural location, provides 100% organic, high-quality food via its friendly hosts, and in addition to this, there’s a range of excursion options to experience along with a cosy wellness area – what more could you want?

The property is located at the beautiful Bodden Coast, approximately seventeen kilometres northwest of the Hanseatic city of Stralsund which you can read more about later in this feature.

Over the past fifteen years, Jürg Gloor and his wife Sabine Stange have been hosting families who want an organic-oriented vacation at their ecologically and sustainably managed historic manor house. However, there are some significant changes afoot and starting from the 18th March 2022, Jürg and Sabine have decided that they will now be focusing their efforts on hosting adults without children.

I did state in the title that Gut Nisdorf would be the ideal place to find some much-needed inner calm and balance!

Inside the property are twelve cosy apartments with 2 or 3 bedrooms and a single and double room. The apartments range in size from 38 to 76 square metres and contain a living area with a kitchenette, a bedroom, bathroom/shower room and depending on which apartment you choose, a further separate bedroom or children’s room.

Gut Nisdorf also boasts a bio sauna cabin, a heat bench with a whirlpool tub, a steam bath, a Kneipp pool, and a relaxation room for those that are partial to some wellness.

For those who enjoy splashing about or lounging in the pool, we have something a little different to reveal about Gus Nisdorf. You will be able to do those things, but it will be within the confines of a natural swimming pond! During the day, you can spend some time enjoying the natural swimming pond, the Bodden beach and the unique nature around the Gut Nisdorf; it’ll be a fantastic opportunity to bring some much-need Biophilia into your lives.

Even for the most ardent lover of peace and nature, sometimes something a little more urban is necessary, and the ideal place to head to for this is the Hanseatic city of Stralsund with its beautiful old town. The city is a World Heritage Site and is definitely worth a visit if only to see its beautiful Gothic brick architecture.

There’s quite a bit to experience in Strasland, including its Ozeaneum and the Skurrileum. The city also boasts a long theatrical tradition and, throughout the year, hosts exciting performances covering everything from ballet to concerts, musical theatre and dramatic performances. In addition, the city has harbour tours, a zoo, and if you’re feeling somewhat energetic, you can even climb the stairs in the steeple of St. Mary’s Church, where you’ll be able to see all the way to Rügen.

If you’re after a little more of the urban experience and don’t mind heading a little further out, 40 km away is the City of Greifswald with its beautifully restored Old Town.
