In a toughly contested category in this year’s Auto Express New Car Awards, the Jaguar’s C-X16 Concept, nveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011, is recognised for its stunning design..

Steve Fowler, Editor-in-Chief, Auto Express, commented; “We knew what a fabulous design the C-X16 was from the moment the covers were taken off at the Frankfurt motor show last year. Now it’s clear that our readers agree – the C-X16 was a clear winner in our poll. It’s huge credit to Jaguar’s design team and bodes well for the forthcoming F-TYPE, which the car previews.”

In April, Jaguar announced the C-X16 concept is to be brought to life in the form of an all-new sports car – the F-TYPE.

Adrian Hallmark, Global Brand Director, Jaguar Cars, said; “It is the positive reaction from the public to the C-X16 that has prompted the acceleration of the F-TYPE programme. This award highlights that the concept car delivers a desirable proposition to the market, a proposition we are developing and look forward to introducing to the world later in the year.”

Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar Cars added; “Recognition from the public is always a wonderful thing to receive. We are very encouraged that people have been so positive towards the design principles of the C-X16 and are confident this positivity will continue as we get closer to the F-TYPE being seen in its final form.”
