Having finalised an interior re-design for her Marbella villa, client Daisy Willems entrusted Ambience Home Design with a blank-canvas new build in Belgium. Both client and design team are delighted with the results.

Andrea Böck, CEO of Ambience Home Design, commented, “Throughout the Marbella project we built up trust and confidence which allowed Daisy to give us almost free rein when it came to her home in Belgium. Her only real criteria were to keep the living spaces and bedrooms elegant but to add a funkier vibe to the large 90-square-metre bar and games room. We wanted to express her youth, power, beauty and grace through the design while she wanted us to take responsibility for every last detail from accessories to crockery. In short, it was a dream-come-true project for Ambience Home Design.”

In the lounge, Andrea opted for a soft neutral-toned palate seen on the sofa, floor covering, wallpaper and handmade spherical glass pendant lights from Bocci. Contrast was added with black-and-white-striped armchairs and vibrant yellow occasional chairs. Moving into the dining area, a feature brass-finished ‘Portobello Cabinet’ by Julian Chichester added glamour and flair while a custom-made white dining table flanked by brass-studded white- and stone-coloured chairs continued the soft neutrality.

The study featured a minimalist contemporary desk with gilded legs (also by Julian Chichester), a silver and yellow Louis XVI-style office chair, cosy faux fur ‘Cutie’ armchairs by Munna, and feature metallic wallpaper to one wall.

The bedrooms were kept serene and unfussy using plenty of texture from velveteen throws to quilted headboards – the master has a sumptuous Chesterfield bed upholstered in metallic velvet from Arketipo and the second bedroom a pink tassel-fringed satin armchair. Meanwhile the laidback bar and games room turned up the volume with purple as the dominant colour (including a violet-cloth billiard table and plush velvety lilac sofas) accented by bold gold scatter cushions and star-shaped tables, silver skull wall lamps, cuboid wood-stump bar tables, an antiqued brown-leather sofa, curvy deep purple armchairs, a 60s-style brass and perforated steel chandelier from Delightfull, and fun Elle-Magazine-cover artwork.

The month-long project involved an on-site painting, wallpapering and curtain-hanging team, as well as a ten-day installation undertaken in person by Andrea. It was completed to exacting standards, and to schedule, and the client was thrilled with the results.

“They did an amazing job, again,” says Daisy. “The house looks marvellous, everything fits perfectly together, and it is not only a representation of my personal taste, but also very elegant and classy – exactly what I was looking for. My respect and appreciation for this Company only grew stronger during this second project and I hope to work with Ambience Home Design again in the future.”

Andrea finishes, “It’s difficult to select the room which was most fun to design, to be honest each had its own special something and we tried to give the various spaces their own character while keeping a harmonious design throughout. Daisy’s personality shines through at every corner and we’re certain she will spend her days in comfort and peace.”
