Montblanc is paying tribute to the freedom of America by releasing the Montblanc Statue of Liberty Artisan Edition writing instrument.

The design of the new Montblanc fountain pen, which is influenced by elements of the renowned neoclassical sculpture and limited to only 50 pens worldwide, features 750 solid gold fittings, a barrel engraved with the official date of the American Independence Declaration in roman letters, as well as a cap which symbolises the crown of the statue. The clip on the pen has been created in the form of a torch enriched with a citrin jewel, whilst a mother-of-pearl Montblanc emblem graces the summit of the writing instrument.

The three dimensional pattern of the latest release symbolises the steel construction of the actual statue by Gustave Eiffel who gave the monument in New York to the United States as a gift. The Montblanc Statue of Liberty Artisan Edition will be available from 04th July 2012 (the date which marks Independence Day in the USA) in Montblanc Boutiques at a recommended retail price of £21,300.00 (including VAT).

Previous Montblanc Limited Edition pens include tributes to Max Reinhardt, Frida Kahlo, and the Presidential Series, all in the form of exquisitely crafted Montblanc writing instruments.
