An iconic fashion name from the 1960s comes to contemporary interiors.

Richard Allan was a major name in the explosion of pattern and colour, which defined the art and fashion of London in the 1960s. Worn by countless celebrities, his printed silk scarves were iconic pieces of art, still highly collectable today.

Working with major couture houses and selling through luxury stores all over the world, his star remained in the ascendant until 1982, when he sold the business, including his complete design archive.

Richard’s daughter Cate, also a designer, worked with him in the business until his retirement and then followed her own career.

In 2014, she began tracking down her father’s designs, recreating his archive, scarf by scarf.

She also began reworking the colours, melding his work with hers to give a fresh, contemporary feel. Now, she has relaunched the business as Richard Allan London, offering both new scarves and a brilliant collection of framed Limited Edition art prints.
