Leanne Kelsall soaks up London’s stunning skyline at Searcys Summer Sky Riviera Pop-Up in the Gherkin.

Busy week at the office? Relax. We’ve discovered the perfect way to unwind at what’s probably London’s most luxurious summer pop-up.

Teaming up with Tanqueray Gin, Searcys have transformed the 40th level of 30 St Mary Axe into a sophisticated summer Riviera. And in case you didn’t know, the 40th floor is the very top of the Gherkin.

Guests can enjoy magnificent views of London’s famous landmarks from one of the highest points in the city. It’s an immersive experience that only the elite usually get to enjoy.

Open for just 6 weeks until September 2, this exciting installation is themed around the French Riviera from the 1950s. The ‘waiting staff’ are kitted out nautical uniforms and the room is decorated with retro deck chairs and potted olive trees.

The limited edition cocktail menu features contemporary tipples in collaboration with Tanqueray No. TEN gin.

Our favourites include the ‘Marseille’; a light and aromatic combination of Tanqueray n10, cucumber and mixed herbs in a cooling, slushy consistency. Then there’s the ‘Vaucluse’, ideal if you have a sweet tooth, with homemade lavender cordial, fresh lavender and a slice of dried orange.

As well as cocktails, there’s a delicious selection of finger food served from French market stalls. Choose from a selection of fine Provencale cheeses, fresh-calved charcuterie or, in true Searcys style, oysters and a glass of fizz.

With its breathtaking views, delectable drinks and glamorous fifties French theme, a visit to the Summer Sky Riviera is something you simply cannot miss.
