If you are looking for a Central London location with comfortable rooms and good cuisine, myhotel Bloomsbury is the perfect place to go.

The hotel occupies a graceful four-storey Georgian townhouse between the vibrant Tottenham Court Road and the serene leafy Bedford Square. Oh and if you’re a real shopper, you are well positioned at the foot of London’s bustling Oxford Street.

Upon entering the hotel open reception, you’re instantly hit by the thick bakery buttery fumes coming from Gail’s Bakery within the hotel. On the other side, flowing from the lobby, lies Gail’s Kitchen which offers pan-European style dining. The reception, due to the eateries either side, felt like an extension of the hustle and bustle of the outside. However, peace and quiet can be found the moment you step into your room.

Our bedroom was extremely spacious with a contemporary feel to it with the influence of intuitive Feng shui ‘east meets west’ thanks to its décor of unique wallpapers and mix of vintage and designer furniture. The huge bed complete with Egyptian cotton bedding was incredibly inviting and a perfect place to crash after pounding the streets of London. Our air conditioned room, like each of the 78 guest rooms came with a flat screen TV, CD player, tea and coffee making facilities complete with complimentary magazines. In addition, Rituals toiletries were provided in each of the guestroom bathrooms. With free Wi-Fi throughout, the room is ideal for the cosmopolitan traveller.

Gail’s Bakery and Gail’s Kitchen are both open to the hotel and public alike and offer a great setting to eat and socialise. The bakery has some of the most wonderful cakes and breads on display to eat in or take away. The kitchen is open to myhotel guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7am until midnight every day except Sundays when it closes at 10.30pm. With interesting but unpretentious food and ingredients sourced from likeminded suppliers, the menu is all about classical recipes from various countries and periods twisted into plates to share.

For those vacating the hotel but wanting to squeeze another day in London, they can do so without having to drag their luggage around. And if they decide to extend their stay even further, they can come back and freshen up in the showers in the basement, before heading off.

The ‘48 hours in London’ package including a two-night stay, breakfast on both mornings and lunch or dinner on one of the days – based on two people sharing a standard double bedroom costs £380 (£190 per night).
