With his experience & huge amount of passion he established his own brand dedicated to manufacturing exclusive watches for the connoisseur. Like most true artists he uses simple sketches as a basis to produce highly accomplished timepieces. This process has culminated in a range of beautiful watches including the fabulous Kantharos.
The inspiration for the name Kantharos is derived from an undefeated prize winning stallion. The company states this formidable timepiece will have the same impact on the watch industry. Christophe Claret unveiled this piece recently at Baselworld 2013. They have marketed this amazing timepiece as a chronograph featuring a constant force escapement & cathedral gong. Essentially the gong chimes to mark the change of each function.
Measuring a respectable 45mm x 15.83mm the Kantharos is a well-proportioned watch. Ultimately its dimensions are commanding without being imposing. Visually the watchs’ sporty façade is stunning & definitely makes a statement. The face consists of two sub dials displaying the chronograph feature & a part skeletonised view of complex mechanical workings. Another bold & striking feature is the red hour, minute & second hands. These work in perfect balance with the Rhodium plated dial. All this refined detail is encased in an elegant satin finished Grade 5 titanium case.
Christophe Claret has equipped the Kantharos with phenomenal Calibre MBA13. This incredibly intricate 75 Jewel automatic movement oscillates at constant force of 21,600 vib/h & comprises 558 components. These parts are all meticulously hand finished to the highest standards & honour the finest haute horlogerie traditions. Functionally this watch features hours, minutes, mono-pusher chronograph, mechanical chime & awesome patented cathedral gong.
