Our good friend Adrien Choux, founder of the luxury watch brand, The Chinese Timekeeper has just come back from an enjoyable and successful stint at Baselworld 2013 in Switzerland.

Adrien told us that he was exceptionally pleased by the response to his two latest limited edition collections, the CTK17 and CTK18 and then furnished us with further details on his latest collections. We were unsure whether to showcase both watch collections together, but upon closer inspection of the images, they definitely justify separate features, to start with, let’s look at the CTK 18.

Twelve months ago The Chinese Timekeeper introduced us the first watches boasting China’s most iconic stone: Green Jade. This year the stakes have been upped and sees a charismatic and welcome addition to their Jade Collection: The Chinese Timekeeper – (CTK18) White Jade Automatic.

White jade is rarer and more precious stone than its more famous big brother, green jade! For this limited edition collection, Adrien has used grade ‘A’ Burmese White Jade to create that perfect visual contrast for greater legibility on the black dial.

For the very first time on a watch, white jade has been skilfully utilised and its various shades are have been inserted into the stunning and daring design of a CTK. The limited edition White Jade Automatic still carries all of the ‘hallmarks’ of the CTK range including the case shape, based upon Su Songs great Driving Wheel, the multi-part layers that make up the case and the preeminent screws that harks back to the construction of the old tower.

At 44mm, the White Jade automatic watch is very much a statement piece and as its limited to just 18 pieces, means you’re unlikely to ever bump into someone else wearing one.

The CTK18 is priced at HK$32,800 and is available at the The Chinese Timekeeper Hong Kong Boutique (82 Stone Nullah Lane, Wanchai) or via the website: www.thechinesetimekeeper.com
