Time to relax

A short walk down the drive from the Mansion House, the two-floor Spa at Coworth Park lies in an elegant semi-circular building. At ground level, there’s several treatment rooms, plus a light and airy Spatisserie to feast on some snacks, such as smoked salmon bagels and banana cake. On the lower floor, there’s a well-equipped and recently refurbished gym, as well as an 18-metre pool with several reclining chairs and 15 unique St Andrews-sourced amethyst geodes which stand on stone plinths overlooking the water. With a pleasant temperature of around 28 degrees, we put in a few lengths during our visit, and if you have the opportunity to stick your head under the surface, you are rewarded with some mellow and surprisingly clear tunes.

To cleanse the pores, there’s a large steam room with lemon and lime infused water on-hand to rehydrate upon exiting.

My other half was de-stressed and reinvigorated during our stay courtesy of Coworth Park’s 90-minute long Signature Treatment (costing £145 per person), which delivers a rich and relaxing experience where all areas of the body are treated. A dedicated therapist uses a mixture of products from the Kerstin Florian range chosen to suit the individual’s skin type and preferences. Shevon started on my wife’s back, and then provided a series of mud treatments, body wraps and massages to exfoliate and hydrate her skin, whilst relieving tight and aching muscles. This was followed by a heavenly scalp massage, which can be provided with or without oils, whichever one prefers. Following on from this, Shevon moved on to her face using a clarifying exfoliating face scrub and a Neroli cream cleanser chosen specifically to match her skin type. A dreamy foot massage using hot stones completed this divine treatment. Judging by her truly relaxed state as she arrived back to the Spatisserie, you could clearly see that the spa team had worked their magic and given her body a much-needed reboot.

In summary, Coworth Park really is fit for royalty, and with stunning surroundings and impeccable service, it’s no wonder that Prince Harry chose to spend his last night of freedom here. Whether for an overnight or weekend stay, it’s an oasis of luxury with plenty to indulge in and discover, so much so, that you have to prise yourself away from it all to leave.
