Vegetarian Restaurant Group 1847 unveils Matt Bowling as their new Food & Beverage Director starting the End of September

Matt started his career in his home country New Zealand at the acclaimed MacFarlanes restaurant group before moving over to the UK. His first position in the UK was at Ottolenghi mastering the art of vegetable cooking.

After moving to Brighton, Matt then spent 4 years at Michelin recommended, vegetarian restaurant Terre a Terre, two of those as Head Chef – mastering the art of vegetarian cuisine.

Matt’s style of vegetable cooking is a combination of world flavours combined with the best of British produce.

1847 Founder Damien Davenport is thrilled to welcome Matt to the team and says: not only is Matt a very talented chef, he’s also passionate about the whole dining experience and his contribution to 1847 will not only be our food, but the complete guest journey.

Focusing on our food and drink offering, Matt will also launch a product range and host special events across our four sites. We also have exciting plans to expand in further in Brighton during 2017 and Matt is instrumental to this.
