Since its opening back in 1988, The Loch Fyne Oyster Bar has built a strong reputation as one of Scotland’s very best seafood restaurants, featuring the highest quality seafood indigenous to Argyll.

The Loch Fyne Oyster Bar And Farm Shop has many regular customers from around Argyll, Glasgow, and Central Scotland, who often weekly enjoy the magnificent drive through The Rest and are thankful to join them at Loch Fyne.

Their Guest Book is truly international, and every year, they welcome back guests from around the globe who make the pilgrimage to the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar And Farm Shop to sample the very best of Scottish seafood.

During the winter months, they prepare for the forthcoming busy season from Easter to October, and this year will be no exception. On January 30th, they’ll be starting a work programme to renovate the kitchen and restaurant area and the farm shop.

They have been very careful in their plans not to lose the unique atmosphere of Loch Fyne but need to upgrade their kitchens and furnishings to ensure an enjoyable and comfortable experience for their thousands of customers.

Loch Fyne Oyster Bar And Farm Shop is confident that its design partners will do a great job in achieving these necessary improvements while retaining Loch Fyne Oyster’s heritage and character.

Roy Brett, a consultant from the renowned Ondine Restaurant in Edinburgh, has been at the forefront of the planning stage and will oversee the redevelopment programme.

Roy said, “This is a very exciting development in the hugely successful history of the Oyster Bar.”

Moyra Dey, Front of House Manager, added, “To complete the work as quickly as possible, we need to close the Oyster Bar and Shop from the end of January, and we aim to open by Easter.

To our regulars who would normally visit us in this period, we apologise and look forward to welcoming you back in March when we are sure you will enjoy the benefits of the work we are about to undertake.”

From April onwards, Loch Fyne Oyster Bar And Farm Shop will celebrate 25 Years of the Oyster Bar and Farm Shop at the Clachan site with special events, menus and celebratory dishes.
