Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) is experiencing an exciting time. A few months ago (October), the company unveiled its new shareholders via a management buyout, and it has just announced the sale of the Nauta Air 90 Icon (ex-Noga), which becomes the third significant success for the company’s pre-owned sales department in twelve months.

Staff in CdM’s Pre-owned Sales Department will be popping the corks after selling the Nauta Air 90 Icon (ex-Noga) to a new enthusiast owner in an off-market deal. Over the years, many explorer yachts built by CdM have been resold in record time through the yard’s dedicated sales department (either directly or with the help of international Yacht Brokers from all the major brokerage houses).

The Nauta Air 90 Icon (ex-Noga) was initially delivered in 2014, and Carlo Aquilanti, Sales Manager of CdM’s Pre-owned Department, was tasked with overseeing the whole transaction.

The new Uruguayan owner said, “We decided to buy this vessel for the mix of construction quality, good taste in finishing and a very family-friendly layout. I have been following this particular yacht since 2018. For the first year, we will be enjoying the South of France and the Balearic. Second year Corsica/Sardinia and south of Italy. We will rename the yacht COMO”.

Five units of the Nauta Air series built by CdM have now found new owners: two Nauta Air 90, one 108, one 110 and one 111. In addition, the pre-owned sales department is currently handling the sale of the all-aluminium Nauta Air 90 YES (ex ROSEY, YOLO), which is now under offer.

About the Nauta Air 90 Icon (ex Noga)
The yacht is the brainchild of internationally-renowned designers Mario Pedol and Massimo Gino of Nauta Design. It offers accommodation for eight guests in four suites, all located on the Lower deck, along with quarters for five crew.

Its guest spaces are spread over two decks, and one of its stand-out features is a 65 square metres Flying Bridge, which features multiple amenities such as sun pads, a barbecue, a bar, and a lounging and dining area.

The open plan saloon on the Main deck has been designed for relaxation, with comfortable seating, a bar, and an entertainment centre including a 60-inch Samsung television and a Bose surround sound stereo system. Forward is a dining area with seating for eight guests. The aft cockpit offers built-in upholstered seating, a table, chairs and an ice maker, ensuring its popularity as the location for al fresco cocktails and casual dining.

Port and starboard stairs lead down to a large swim platform. The flybridge comes with sun pads aft, a barbecue grill, a wine cooler and an ice maker with seating under a hard top.

From the saloon, a few steps lead up to the helm station. Visibility is good, and the slightly tilted glass and the top deck’s overhang protect the bridge from sunlight and heat. Although this line of yachts has what we would call “all the bells and whistles”, the core philosophy behind these solid and reliable yachts is geared towards comfortable, safe cruising rather than trying to impress.

The Nauta Air 90 Icon has been fitted with traditional navigation instruments and has two Caterpillar engines. The yacht’s technical equipment can be controlled from the main helm station and the fly. A third helm station is in the cockpit, and a control panel is located near the Captain’s cabin on the lower deck.

Comfort on board is guaranteed by the ample and bright spaces and by the fact that noise and vibrations are significantly reduced thanks to the use of thick layers of Rockwool in combination with layers of Mapflex, a visco-elastic acoustic insulator that significantly reduces noise and muffles vibration. Above the deck and on the lower bridge, at cruising speed, the noise level does not exceed 60 dB.

The Nauta Air 90 is perfect for extended, tranquil cruising and focuses more on comfort than speed. At 9 knots, the Nauta Air 90 reveals her true globetrotting ability with a range of 4000 nautical miles; however, fuel consumption remains low even at a more daring pace. At 13.4 knots, the two 885hp Caterpillar C18 Acert engines run at 1800rpm and burn 160 l/h, and when required, she has a maximum speed of approximately 16.5 knots.
