We Talk To Maison Sybarite About Their Ethically Created Luxury Perfumes

Maison Sybarite eau de parfum

LM: We’ve smelt all four fragrances and have to say we love them. They smell very strong, and a little goes a far way. How did you decide on which scents to use in the blend?
MS: The most complicated aspect with water plant emulsion is to stabilise the woody scents in our formulas. We wanted to challenge ourselves to make it possible from the beginning. If this is possible, everything else will be possible. And we proudly overcame the challenge.

The rich spices in the 720 including notes of lavender, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg and precious wood are reunited in a sensual blend for ardent lovers of life. Racy birch tar and aromatic lavender intertwine with the intoxicating patchouli to create a powerful animalistic accord.

The Opulent Wood perfume unveils intensely flavoured grapes, fruit flavours, rich spices and seduces those who have a fondness for opulent smells. The Bed of Roses is a feminine blend and is a sensual and sparkling combination of elegant fresh bergamot with an added hint of saffron. The powdery orris joins the versatile rose to achieve an intensely romantic accord. Tolu completes the sophisticated harmony, giving dimension, glory and nobility.

We decided to include all renowned aphrodisiac ingredients in the Spicy Calabria. This perfume was born from the heart of Sybaris, a true paradise of freshness and laughing deep greenery, a delightful solitude where one feels unique, phenomenal and on its own. Narcotic wormwood completes ginger’s burst of energy. This multi-layered blend is surprisingly fresh, but it transforms into an addictively woody scent. The fragrance fuses orris and black pepper with oud in a very subtle and powdery silage.

LM: Did you have a target audience?
MS: We see ourselves as more than a perfume brand. Demand for clean, vegan, cruelty-free and sustainable perfumes continues to grow, as more than half of all women, and 62% of Millennials, say they read labels on beauty products to avoid certain ingredients. Many consumers have concerns about the long-term consequences of potentially harmful additives on themselves, their families and the environment.

LM: Will you be creating more fragrances?
MS: Yes, we have a fifth perfume already awaiting launch. The Amber Gaze will have notes of Jasmin blended with other scents. It will be the ultimate love potion with an exotic, complex floral aroma. The creation will burst with sensuality and luxury. It will be classy and rich.

LM: And what is the future for you at Maison Sybarite?
MS: We see only one future for Maison Sybarite, and that is being a part of the clean and sustainable movement in the cosmetic market. The perfume industry will change, as the consumer will have access to better options. We’re proud to be at the forefront of this changing tide as the first water-based fine fragrance brand. Now we are doing something incredible because we want it to be meaningful.
