The family-run Roux at the Landau, in the historic Langham Hotel, sees Albert and his son Michel Roux Jr at the helm, with Oliver Boon as head chef.

The Roux at the Landau is five-star dining at it’s finest – and friendliest, with the waiters hugely delighted to ensure your experience is second-to-none. People love the service here so much that we discovered our friendly Italian waiter and the restaurant’s manager, Franco Becci, has a loyal following of regular guests!

As you enter, the elegant setting of the grand ballroom gives you a taste of things to come. The oval-shaped room is open and spacious, while the arched windows give a view of the stunning architecture outside. The booth-style seating is a welcome change from traditional restaurants and adds a relaxed feel.

White, elegant linen and high-quality crockery sets high standards and the food does not fall short.

Our 3-course meal was utterly faultless. The menu is made up of classically-constructed French dishes blended with a modern approach. To start, the creamy diver-caught scallops were perfectly cooked and placed so delicately on the plate.

The rich Denham Estate venison main looked like a work of art, with spiced red cabbage and smooth celeriac mash. The desserts looked almost too good to eat. The bitter chocolate mille-feuille was a technical masterpiece and came with sweet maple ice cream and contrasting crunchy pecans.

Magnificent.
