Michelin Star chef Vineet Bhatia has launched a new restaurant serving Indian inspired cuisine in Chelsea.

Introducing Vineet Bhatia London.

Vineet Bhatia, the first chef to claim a Michelin Star for Indian cuisine, has launched a new restaurant in Chelsea. The new restaurant – Vineet Bhatia London, is set within a stunning Georgian townhouse on London’s iconic King’s Road. It becomes the tenth restaurant in Bhatia’s portfolio, adding to an impressive collection that includes venues in Geneva, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Mumbai.

Born in Mumbai, Bhatia came to England in 1993 and quickly revolutionised the perception of Indian cuisine. By 2001 he was rewarded for his efforts with a Michelin Star for his Kensington restaurant, Zaika.

Drawing on the experience of an illustrious career, Bhatia has opened Vineet Bhatia London as his flagship restaurant. Created to draw on his 23-year professional journey, the restaurant combines influences stretching back to his childhood in Mumbai right through to his current home, Chelsea.

Everything about Vineet Bhatia London has been designed to reflect this journey, from the menu to the decor. With the latter featuring a calming palate of light greys, with splashes of colour and ornate colours throughout.

The menu will also reflect the chef’s skill and experience, as it marries eastern and western influences to challenge and evolve the perception of Indian cuisine. For guests, a night at Vineet Bhatia London will start with exquisite canapés such as Sago papad and Aloo-yoghurt chaat, which pay nostalgic reverence to Bhatia’s childhood and the street vendors of Mumbai whose livelihoods revolve around such delicacies.

The canapés will be followed by a menu composed of five to six courses. With dishes demonstrating Bhatia’s respect of traditional Indian flavours with the addition of his own indelible twist. Guests can expect courses including smoked salmon, white tomato butter chicken and coffee lamb chop. Alongside such offerings, Bhatia has created a full vegetarian menu which showcases an impressive aubergine steak and beetroot cashew tikka.

Wines have been expertly paired to each course and the restaurant includes a small bar which boasts an expansive wine list curated to reflect and complement Bhatia’s cuisine. Alongside the bar, the restaurant features a main dining room capable of seating thirty-two guests and two private dining rooms, Lutyens and Wittet which can host twelve and eight people respectively.

Arguably his most complex project to date, Bhatia feels he has created his ultimate restaurant in Vineet Bhatia London, stating that the venue is “simply everything I ever wanted my restaurant to be back in 1993”. Set to be one of the hottest tickets in town, Vineet Bhatia London should be on every discerning fine food lovers list.
