The first outpost of Shanghai’s original Michelin-starred brand, one Michelin-starred Yong Fu, has been the city’s authoritative voice on authentic and upscale Ningbo cuisine since it opened. For 2022, Yong Fu Hong Kong is embarking on a first by introducing its first-ever Mooncake Gift Box.

Nestled in the heart of Wan Chai on Lockhart Road, Yong Fu Hong Kong creates the authentic flavours of Ningbo using fresh local produce and seafood from the East China Sea. With exquisite skills and an impeccable sense of Ningbo flavours, Head Chef Liu Zhen blends the diverse variations of Hong Kong cuisine with the traditions of Ningbo and continues to push the boundaries of Ningbo food culture.

In celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Yong Fu Hong Kong is introducing an exclusive and limited mooncake gift box series, which will mark a first for the restaurant. Chef Liu and the team have prepared two types of durian-flavoured mooncakes carrying over Shanghai’s recent trend of consuming durian mooncakes during the mid-autumn festival.

They comprise Musang King Durian Snowskin Mooncake and BlackThorn Durian Snowskin Mooncake, with all ingredients flown in fresh from Malaysia.

Each individual box of 6 mooncakes (3 types of each flavour) is priced at HK$428 each, and a bulk order discount is also available upon enquiry. There will only be 1,000 boxes available in Hong Kong, and orders are on a first-come, first-served basis until stock runs out.

Guests are encouraged to refrigerate the mooncakes, and when ready to enjoy, rest the mooncakes at room temperature over varying times for the desired texture. Rest for 10 minutes to achieve the texture of a classic durian cake, 20 minutes for a thick, ice cream-like texture, and 30 minutes for a molten liquid durian mooncake.
