With restrictions eased, millions of people can start enjoying the sunshine. To help you, Absolut Elyx has launched the limited-edition Sunshine Calling collection in conjunction with Australia’s Sunny Life which is designed to put some extra style and a lot more fun into your life.
At this present time, there’s way too much doom and gloom in the news. We need a distraction and one of the best ways is by enjoying the summertime wherever you are.
To help raise ‘spirits’ around the world, we’re taking a look at a lovely summer-inspired collection from Sweden’s Absolut Elyx and Australia’s Sunny Life.
It’s doubtful that people reading this will not recognise the name Absolut Elyx, but in the unlikely event there is, please allow me to provide some brief background information.
Absolut Elyx is synonymous with high-quality vodka. Their renowned creation is made in Sweden in a manually operated copper still, and it’s been done this way for nigh on a century. Absolut Elyx is one of the few spirits brands to be considered a luxury product.
This ties in nicely to the first product we are featuring from the Absolut Elyx and Sunny Life, Sunshine Calling collection.
The Rainbow Drinking Cup
The bright new vessel features a rainbow swirl lid that tops a large (520ml) copper-coloured drinking cup. It has the signature Absolut Elyx damask design surrounding a unique love heart pattern. The Rainbow Cup is perfect for frozen drinks in the summer sun and keeps long and refreshing cocktails cool to the last sip, and yes it does come with a straw!
To set the scene; you’re relaxing by a beautiful blue swimming pool, surrounded by ruddy-faced people wiping away the suntan lotion that’s dripped into their eyes.
You reveal your glistening copper coloured Rainbow Drinking Cup filled with a delicious, cool concoction from the Absolut Elyx summer recipe book that came with it. You slowly bring the cup to your lips savouring the ice-cool sips, while the people around you frantically blink the sweat from their eyes, gazing at you with envy.
For those who can’t quite live up to that vision here’s a recipe you can try now in a run-of-the-mill drinking vessel:
Daisy Chain Recipe

- Two parts Absolut Elyx
- Twp parts Triple Sec
- One part Lemon Juice
- Six parts soda water
Method: Build all ingredients over ice in a Rainbow Drinking Cup and stir gently to combine – voila!
Sunshine Calling Edition Luxe Towel
This is probably our favourite piece in the collection. It doesn’t matter where you decide to go to enjoy yourself, be it on the grass, beach or just poolside; you’ll be able to do it in comfort and style with this towel.
This is a large towel measuring 175cm x 90cm, making it ideal for even an adult to stretch out. It has ultra pink tassels and is printed with the signature Absolut Elyx banana leaf pattern. It’s made from Heavyweight 520 GSM, 100% combed cotton and is simply perfect.
The Sunshine Calling Edition Cocktail Pool Floatie
When the weather’s hot, there’s little better than a dip into the water. Once again, Absolut Elyx has come up trumps. This gold-coloured inflatable floatie is in the shape of a cocktail glass and is ideal for lounging.
It measures 170cm x 130cm and can take people weighing as much as 100kg/220lbs! It’s made from non-toxic PVC and even comes with a repair kit just in case you puncture it!
Sunshine Calling Edition Sun Visor
We loved this. The visor is made from bendable PVC and comes with an elasticated back. It’s not only comfortable to wear, but with its pink accents and the banana leaf pattern, it looks great.
Another thing we liked it is very lightweight and wipeable. Protecting your face from the sun is vital, and although caps perform a similar role, your head can overheat. We tried the visor on a day out at the zoo, and it lived up to our high expectations!
Sunshine Calling Icy Martini Moulds
