ConciergeUK was formed to offer a high-end concierge and event management service to engage and fulfil the demands, priorities and requirements of high net worths, VIPs and corporate companies.
The services offered are limitless in scope, ensuring that each request is carried out with diligence, a meticulous attention to detail, and a high standard of delivery. We caught up with their Director to find out more.
LM: You spent three decades with AgustaWestland helicopters including 13 years in Milan looking after VIP clients. What were your key responsibilities?
WH: From progressing from a young engineer travelling the world to finishing my journey in Milan, Italy, I can truly look back and say, all opportunities were fulfilled! Whilst working and living in Italy, I was able to truly embrace local cultures and communities.
The key responsibilities were managing and overseeing the commercial civil sales client base which saw over 200 visits per year from high net worth individuals, corporations and VIP delegations to the company facilities in Italy. This enabled the building of a close bond with clients from around the globe.
LM: Have you always had a passion for aviation?
WH: My father was an engineer, so it always seemed natural that I would follow in his footsteps. But I was always the organiser, and always the person that pulled things together for everyone. Whilst working for AgustaWestland, I had the pleasure to fly quite frequently with clients.
LM: Do you have any other career highlights?
WH: There have been many highlights, but flying and landing on the USS America Aircraft Carrier by catching the wire with the aircraft tail hook was surely one of the most exciting experiences of my career. You don’t get to do this every day! Flying regularly over the Italian mountains and Lake Maggiore with clients was always a pleasure.
LM: What services does ConciergeUK offer, and where are you based?
WH: ConciergeUK has based itself in the heart of Exeter, United Kingdom, offering its services to the high net worths, VIPs and corporate clients. These include delegation, event and diary management, specialist travel arrangements, concierge services, family management and consultancy. All of our services are based on retainers and non-retained agreements. We also partner with specialist logistics consultancies such as Honour Promotive to help deliver some of our events. For a number of years, they have worked with a variety of car, truck and motorcycle manufacturers such as McLaren Automotive, Mercedes-Benz, Suzuki and Toyota, managing new and high profile product launch programmes.
LM: What inspired you to set up the business?
WH: Being a born organiser with the drive, leadership, strong business acumen, proven organisational skills, and a global database full of individuals, including many friends, ConciergeUK was duly formed.
LM: How big is your team?
WH: We operate a small dynamic team of four young, dynamic individuals full of enthusiasm. Our discretion, humour and ‘no stone unturned’ approach is the foundation for our success.
LM: Who is your principal clientele?
WH: We don’t necessarily have principal clients, as our customer base is worldwide. However what we can say is that each and every one of them is treated with the same level of professionalism and attention to detail. Finmeccanica Helicopters, Thrive-Hubs, Octagon Golf, Authentic Digital, Farnborough International, Weststar Aviation, Waypoint Leasing, Teleperformance and the Astro TV company are amongst our existing clients.
LM: What are the key considerations when working with a high net worth customer base?
WH: The key consideration is understanding and managing your client in a discreet and professional manner. Knowing their requirements, habits, mannerisms and most of all, always ready to anticipate change.
LM: What is your favourite luxury travel destination?
WH: Being a frequent traveller to Dubai is always a pleasure, but I guess Bermuda and Los Roques in Venezuela are destinations that have been ticked off the bucket list!
