Glenfiddich Collaborates With MR PORTER For Limited Edition Whisky

The Speyside whisky distillery, Glenfiddich, has teamed up with MR PORTER, the online menswear destination, to create a unique and limited edition 20 Year Old expression. Simon Wittenberg looks at the launch of the new bottle, which is set to be very fashionable amongst whisky collectors and connoisseurs.

Next month, MR PORTER, the online portal that brings together the globe’s most desirable menswear brands, is entering the world of whisky for the first time. They are collaborating with the renowned Glenfiddich distillery to create a new limited edition of just 1,500 bottles, aptly named “Glenfiddich presented by MR PORTER”.

They will only be available to individuals in the UK (costing £300), the US (priced at $425), and in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.

Built on shared values of taste, elegance, and innovation, the limited, luxurious, and complex 20 Year Old whisky offer notes of fudge, spiced oak, caramelised Demerara sugar, followed by Malaku spices. The rich and indulgent single malt has been curated by MR PORTER Creative Director Ben Palmer, under the expert eye of Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsman.

They came together to hand-select New American oak, ex-bourbon and European oak sherry casks, in which the exceptionally smooth single malt has been housed. This use of Glenfiddich’s innovative Solera technique combines the three casks to create a bigger, richer and more complex flavour.

Brian Kinsman, Glenfiddich’s Malt Master, said that innovation, craft, style, and curation were at both brands’ hearts. He added that, where Glenfiddich’s highly creative nature and diligent techniques had seen the brand create the best quality and innovative whiskies for 134 years, MR PORTER’s meticulous procurement of the world’s leading lifestyle labels and brands had made it the destination for style.

Claudia Falcone, Glenfiddich’s Global Brand Director, explained that it was a delight to work alongside a brand that shared a similar ethos and approach to their craft and iconic curation and that the partnership with MR PORTER was the first of its kind.

Each bottle is presented in a bespoke, crisp white, embossed casing, lined with a subtly designed, minimalistic monogram featuring the MR PORTER and Glenfiddich brand emblems.

Due to the highly limited vatting, luxury spirit enthusiasts and style seekers will need to visit Glenfiddich.com to register their details into the ballot, opening on Wednesday 3rd November at 00.01 GMT, to be in with a chance to buy one of the exclusive bottles.

They will only be available to individuals based in the United Kingdom (RRP £300), the United States (RRP $425), Hong Kong (RRP HKD3,300.00), Singapore and Australia (RRP $AUD540). All applicants must be over the legal purchase age.
