The Great Fosters Estate near Windsor, Surrey, is now welcoming guests to enjoy its newly refurbished 1920s outdoor pool — offering a morning of relaxing and refreshing dips with Champagne and a picnic for two.
The hotel, which forms part of The Alexander Hotel Collection, refurbished its pool last year and is now giving guests the chance to appreciate its refreshed and reinvigorated appearance as the weather gets warmer, unveiling the new offering as the spring sunshine takes hold.
The hotel is celebrating the reopening by launching the Pool & Picnic package. The package offers guests the opportunity to reserve a sun lounger from morning to afternoon — complete with towels, robes and all the other poolside essentials courtesy of TempleSpa, finished with a two-course picnic in the hotel’s renowned gardens.
The 2021 refurbishment of the pool was carried out in a sympathetic way to reflect its art deco style, with its original stalls for changing, bathrooms and outdoor showers retained to maintain the period charm – a key feature of Great Fosters’ wider offering. The pool area is now also home to a hot tub and treatment tipi, which is ‘medieval’ in styling and will offer luxury couples treatments.
To further enhance the experience, guests will be greeted with a glass of Champagne on arrival before being escorted to their spot on the sun-drenched terrace. Lunchtime will then provide the opportunity for an al fresco dining experience within the hotel grounds — complete with deckchairs and a food-filled picnic hamper.

Great Fosters is a Tudor estate steeped in royal history and located just outside Windsor in the heart of Surrey. The Pool & Picnic offer is available between Monday and Thursday for a minimum of two guests and is sure to be a memorable experience within one of Surrey’s most historic hotels.
