KEEN Launches Washable and Reusable Range of Face Masks

Footwear brand KEEN has launched a colourful range of washable and reusable face masks made from un-cycled materials in their own factory.

Given what’s currently happening around the world, face masks are undoubtedly going to be the must-have accessory for the foreseeable future. To help the world to keep safe as well as looking good, the footwear brand KEEN has launched a new range of face masks which are washable, comfortable and stylish.

Although the advice is a little unclear concerning the wearing of masks, it is becoming apparent that people using public transport and working in areas where others are present, should be wearing face masks. The common consensus is wearing face masks not only protect the wearer, but it also protects others*.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control says non-surgical face masks might help stop the spread of coronavirus by people who are contagious but have no symptoms.

Wearing a face mask will require a change in people’s social perspective. But, given the wake-up call the world has experienced, it should soon become a widely accepted practice. Also, wearing something that looks good and is fashionable should make the transition much smoother and KEEN’s new face masks are definitely a step in the right direction.

With the variety of colours and patterns, they are available in, they’re an ideal product to help society transition into the ‘new normal‘ and will no doubt beceom an essential part of everyones wardrobe.

“As the world adjusts to life with COVID-19, we understand that wearing masks in public will be a part of a mix of strategies to help keep this virus in check until a vaccine is developed and widely applied. Until that time, we are supporting public health institution recommendations regarding the use of cloth face coverings, by making comfortable masks that people feel good about wearing every day in public”,
said Erik Burbank, KEEN Chief Brand Officer.

How the KEEN Face Masks are made
To make the face masks, KEEN converted a production line in one of their own factories in Thailand. The mask, also known as a ‘Harvest Mask’ is made from un-cycled materials which were sourced for the brand’s footwear products.

Comfort shouldn’t be a concern as the masks have been designed for all-day use and are made from a four-way stretch material. As mentioned previously and for those who are cost-conscious, the KEEN masks can be reused and are washable.

KEEN has a  highly-commendable approach to sustainability and this has been a hallmark of this shoe brand since day one. Add to the mix they are now producing a product to help keep the people of the world safe, and you’ve got to take your hats off to them.

KEEN Face Masks – Where and how?

To encourage the wearing of masks as everyday attire, KEEN has created a full line of KEEN Harvest Masks that will be available for fans to purchase through www.keenfootwear.com in early Summer 2020.

*KEEN recommend you always follow your current local Public Health Guidance with respect to mandatory rules and measures in response to the COVID- 19 Pandemic.
