Lazzara’s 87ft Sandro Proves Size Doesn’t Matter When the Design is Right

Lazzara Yachts 87ft Sandro Motor Yacht Proves Bigger Isn't Always Better

American Yachtmakers, Lazzara, will showcase their UHV 87ft Motor Yacht named Sandro at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival. Between 6th and 11th September, you can board the yacht and discover all it has to offer, and until then, we’ve compiled a piece to whet your appetite.

At first glance, Sandro looks somewhat akin to an Imperial Stormtrooper’s helmet, but when you change your angle of view, she truly shows her beauty. Compared to other boats in this age of Mega Yachts, she might be considered petite, but sometimes, size doesn’t matter. What the UHV 87ft lacks in the footage, it gains by the designers incorporating volume internally and externally.

As the owner of the boat, you and any guests you welcome will appreciate the space you have and the versatility of every foot of the yacht. There are 2,153sq.ft of interior living space, which matches vessels twice the size. The Exterior deck space is a vast 862sq ft which is utilised superbly to make a functional, luxury home on the sea.

The UHV 87ft accommodates eight guests across four cabin suites. The master stateroom is kingsize and found on the main deck benefitting from a desk, large seating area and a spa-style ensuite bathroom finished in marble. There is a VIP stateroom, a twin cabin on the lower deck, or a guest suite for your visitors. Your four crew have grand cabins in the aft, giving this motor yacht versatile appeal.

Enjoy alfresco dining on the spacious upper deck with adjacent lounge seating. Fancy a swim? You can use the broad platform aft to access the water and enjoy your water toys and tender.

Floor-to-ceiling windows running port and starboard allow you plenty of natural light and privacy. On the main deck, you have a spacious salon lounge with an entertainment centre and large screen tv. The formal dining area is also located on this deck; you can move up to the upper deck to relax in the sky lounge with a game table, bar counter, and cinema screen.

You will discuss your tastes in interior fittings and equipment with the designers, but you can guarantee it will be of the highest quality. Artisans produce leathers and exotic wood features that accentuate the interiors.

The well-equipped galley will allow you or anyone to make anything from a simple sandwich to full-on Corden-bleu meals. It is located on the main deck and easily accessible for the owner’s use or a personal chef.

The UHV 87 MY Sandro is a flagship example of Lazzara’s technical innovations and advanced build capabilities. The vessel is robust and constructed of composite with Epoxy resin and E-glass and can tackle the harshest seas. The craft uses floating floors to dampen onboard vibration and noise to give passengers the smoothest possible voyage.

To allow the Skipper optimal functionality and piloting performance, the boat has the latest technology for navigation and manoeuvring. You also get state-of-the-art safety systems to cope with any unwanted emergency.

Dealing with essentials like water provision is paramount to allowing long voyages across oceans, so the Sandro has two structurally integrated centralised sea chests for water intake. They can be closed at the bottom from inside the engine room to allow the entire plumbing system to be maintained at sea. Centralised discharge boxes also negate the need for visible through-hull holes all around the yacht.

Twin Volvo diesel engines push the Lazzara’s Sandro to a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots which is plenty to make your journeys comfortable and efficient. The yacht is equipped with generators to supply all your power requirements.

Lazzara’s 87ft Sandro has already attracted significant attention and was a 2022 International Yacht & Aviation Awards winner.
