Malmesbury's The Old Bell Hotel is an Ideal Place to 'Pop the Question'

Set in the fabulously romantic, historic borough of Malmesbury, Wiltshire, the magical Old Bell Hotel, established in 1220, is, quite frankly, the perfect spot for a Valentine’s celebration, and here’s why.

The Old Bell Hotel is not only offering a gorgeous Valentine’s Day Afternoon Tea at their award-winning restaurant Abbey Row but for a truly private and sensationally romantic Valentine’s Day; diners can hire the Belvedere, their intimate medieval-style pavilion overlooking the Wiltshire countryside. Guests will be treated to their own private waiter and an exclusive Valentine’s menu.

This is utterly perfect for anyone looking to make this Valentine’s their most memorable yet. Do we hear the sounds of a “will you marry me?”.

When visiting The Old Bell Hotel, expect to be delighted by its spectacularly unique and bold interiors following the top-to-toe refurbishment in 2021 by its owners, Kim Hanks and her husband, renowned antiques dealer and collector Whit Hanks.

As well as the Belvedere, The Old Bell is home to Abbey Row, where those looking for a delectably delightful way to celebrate Valentine’s Day can enjoy their special Valentine’s Afternoon Tea.

With lots of sweet and savoury treats to enjoy, starry-eyed lovers can dig into Crispy Beef Bourguignon, Kedgeree Arancini Balls and, of course, some delicate finger sandwiches, as well as Chocolate & Rose Water Mousse and Passionfruit Cheesecake, to name a few!

To make it all the more romantic, guests can choose to prolong their visit by staying overnight. The hotel boasts 34 exquisite bedrooms, each individually designed and furnished with colourful wallcoverings, as well as two stunning bar concepts – the 1220 bar and the fabulous, terraced aviary-like Tyger Bar.

Breakfast is no less outstanding, having won a rare ‘AA Breakfast Award’ last year.
