Accommodation
When it comes to accommodation options, Pangkor Laut Resort does not disappoint, with a variety of luxury properties to perfectly match your needs. The most iconic of the properties are the Sea and Spa Villas, detached properties that sit over the turquoise sea on sturdy stilts with private walkways. If you are looking for something a little larger then you may want to consider the Suria and A garden villa at Pangkor Laut ResortPurnama Suites both are visually similar to the Spa and Sea Villas from the outside but have larger accommodation including an entrance hall, separate bedroom and elegant lounge, balconies for sunbathing, and a spacious bathroom with windows that offer beautiful views of the sea from the over sized bathtub.

For those that would rather stay closer to land, there are a variety of options, the Beach Villas that overlook the sea, the Garden and Hill Villas located near to the reception and the aptly named Pavarotti Suite Named after the world-renowned tenor who fell in love with Pangkor Laut, this is an elegant two-bedroom suite set high on the hill in the rain forest. It has a spacious and luxurious lounge area, an extensive balcony with breathtaking views of the sea and tropical rain forest, and an enormous open-roofed bathroom.

During our stay, we were in one of the Garden Villas for the first couple of nights, an excellent centrally located base, close to reception and Feast Village for Breakfast and Snacks. The Garden Villas are extremely well-appointed with large balconies, high vaulted bedrooms and huge marble baths that give the option of bathing outside. All the usual extras you would expect are within the room, electronic safe, LCD TV, Satellite TV and Mini-Bar etc.

As we mentioned earlier, we were greeted upon arrival by Mariana and she somehow got us to mention that it was out tenth anniversary the following week, so it was a wonderful surprise for us to come back to our room on the first evening to find a huge heart on the bed with a number 10 on it made of fresh rose petals. We also had some handmade chocolates, chocolate dipped strawberries and the bath itself was just astonishing! Floating in the water in the huge marble bath One of the luxurious baths in a Hill Villawere flower petals and lit candles and towels at the foot of the bath in the shape of swans. Before you go thinking it’s because it was Luxurious Magazine visiting, let me state that others on holiday, newly weds, new engagements and even people just wanting a romantic holiday had the same experience – this is how all luxury hotels should treat their guests.

Following our stay in the Garden Villa we were moved to one of the Signature Sea Villas. These incredible properties are located between the main infinity pool and fitness centre and Uncle Lims Restaurant on the Eastern side of the island. One of the first things you’ll notice is the privacy, although Pangkor Laut is a luxury island resort, you still see other guests, however this is not the case when you are within a detached property out in the ocean. The Sea Villa is similar in size to the garden villa, with a large bedroom area, day bed. private verandah and doors leading out onto a large balcony over the sea. The Sea Villa has been designed to maximise the stunning sea views and breeze with a large marble bath with windows that can be opened front and side to give the feeling of open air bathing. High Vaulted Ceilings, marble, wood and luxury fittings all add to the luxurious feel.

It’s quite a unique experience relaxing in a property over the sea, as the only thing that you hear is the sea itself and waft of the warm sea breeze. Each of the sea and Spa Villas has a private wooden walkway so you are assured of privacy away from other holiday go-ers. For those looking for privacy or a romantic getaway, the Spa and Sea Villas are a must and an experience you’ll enjoy recounting to others for many years to come.
