The Algarve's Pine Cliffs Resort Embraces Nature/Nurture Wellness

Pine Cliffs, a Luxury Collection Resort in the Algarve, has introduced a Nature/Nurture holiday for those that want to improve their physical and mental state of mind.

The needs of travellers have changed significantly over recent years. Although I sometimes feel like a stuck record stating the following, the fast-paced, information-on-demand, stressful world we live in is causing havoc to people’s minds and bodies, and many want to head to places where they can relax, heal and re-centre themselves.

Fortunately, some places are taking this onboard, and one of them is the Algarve’s Pine Cliffs resort which has introduced some great ways to help heal the mind and body.

One of the best ways to reduce stress is by heading out into nature. Pine Cliffs Resort’s new holiday allows guests to experience the natural beauty of the resort’s surrounding areas and its wildlife, combined with some nurturing treatments and activities at the five-star resort to relax and rejuvenate.

Nature

A view of the incredible rock formations on the cliffs

The Seven Hanging Valleys Walking Trail is one of Europe’s best hikes. It is a winding, fragrant trail covering 7.46 miles (out and back) that takes you along a stunning section of the coastline where the warm ochre-coloured cliffs combine with the turquoise ocean to create the quintessential Algarvian seascape.

This scenic route runs from Praia da Marinha in the east to Praia de Vale Centeanes in the west. It offers numerous notable stops at the Alfanzina lighthouse and the Benagil and Carvalho beaches.

The Ria Formosa Nature Park (above) is not only a serene spectacle of sand islands in a blue lagoon but also the most important wetland in the south of Portugal. Located just off the coast from Faro, it is best explored by boat or by walking. The park is famous for its bird watching, with many birds resting and feeding here during winter. One of the most popular species of bird that you can spot here is the Flamingo.

Dolphin Watching is a popular activity in the region as the Algarve is blessed with these much loved and intelligent creatures, and at different times throughout the year, whales and porpoises as well. A dolphin-watching boat trip from Albufeira Marina or Sagres Harbour is also a great opportunity to see the stunning coastline, caves and rock formations.
