Spend Some Quality Time with Santa Claus this Christmas in Swedish Lapland

Santa Claus has found a new home where EVERYONE can come and meet the main man, as well as experience the festive magic that only comes when visiting Lapland.

Friendly Moose has pulled some strings with Santa Claus and have created the opportunity to spend some time with the world’s busiest man. The team has been busy over the summer creating an intimate and fully-guided experience for arctic travellers with a new magical Christmas time with Santa, Husky sled rides and Northern Lights spotting adventures available throughout the winter.

What’s more, the new experience is open to everyone from families to those with a disability or other additional travel needs.

With many years of understanding in planning and managing accessible activities, Paul and Maria Roberts have created a destination and holiday experience where a friendly guiding service is provided throughout the stay exclusively for your group, and where solutions are found to overcome any barriers and challenges that a winter holiday here can present.

Experiencing the Northern Lights in Swedish Lapland

“The Arctic region is an inspiring adventure, and we want it to be open to everyone,” says Paul. “It really is a destination for all the senses. Sitting around a fire with the smell of the native Arctic Birch, enjoying a warm lingonberry juice whilst looking skywards for the Northern Lights is always a favourite, and with Arctic walks, dogsledding, and now a new and exclusive festive adventure into the forest to a secluded cabin to meet Santa – our guests will be able to enjoy every aspect of Arctic life.”

Based in a picture-perfect region of Northern Sweden, Övertorneå is sparsely populated and offers an opportunity to stay away from mass tourism centres that exist in other parts of Lapland*, with no confirmed case of coronavirus in over 14 weeks (at the time of writing).

The new festive experience starts with a drive through snowy forest scenery into the Arctic circle where you will be greeted by Santa, who will take you to meet his Reindeer and Moose to feed and stroke them.

Returning back to the warmth, guests will enjoy a traditional Swedish Fika (coffee and cake) while the children sit with Santa and help him open letters from around the world. Perhaps he will even magically ‘find’ the letter from our guests him and a personalized gift!

Paul adds; “In keeping with our total holiday concept, this is a lovely intimate Santa experience for anyone, but has been designed and developed so that guests with accessible travel needs can also visit Lapland and experience an intimate and special time with Santa.

“We also believe that accessible travel does not need to break the bank, we want guests to have the confidence of travelling with a specialist who understands and can manage individuals travel requirements, yet, not by having to do that at a premium.”

The new Meet Santa and Say Thank you to Santa experiences are available from December 1st to January 31st and the Lapland Experience holidays run through to March 31st.

A three-night festive stay with The Friendly Moose costs from £1350 per person, based on two guests travelling, excluding flights. This includes transfers to and from the airport, exclusive use of your two bedrooms self-catering accessible apartment and a cosy lounge with wood burner.

It also includes adapted transfers, dedicated guide throughout the trip, a husky and dogsled experience, Moose and Reindeer experience, a guided Northern Lights night walk, sledging, snow tubing, snow play fun, and the new exclusive Santa experience.

If seeing the Northern lights is one of your dreams, then longer stays are recommended as this increases your chances.
