Swarovski announce the Swarovski Collective Autumn Winter 2012.

Swarovski announce the Swarovski Collective Autumn Winter 2012.

For more than a decade, Swarovski has supported leading designers to produce some of the most memorable pieces across New York, London, Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks.

The Autumn/Winter 2012 select group of emerging and established talent has been carefully chosen for their innovative use of crystal and creative presence in the fashion community; they will showcase their pioneering designs in both New York and London. Nadja Swarovski, Member of the Executive Board, Swarovski Crystal Business, commented: “Swarovski’s crystal technology has allowed for endless experimentation and continues to break boundaries within the fashion industry. This season I am proud to deepen our existing relationships whilst also inviting new talents to imaginatively fuse crystal within their designs.”

The six designers presenting their collections as part of New York Fashion Week, Autumn/Winter 2012 said:

“We are thrilled to be working with Swarovski. It has added not only a totally new component to our collection, but has also brought a great deal of depth to the way we express our ideas.
We feel that we are following in the footsteps of a number of designers that we greatly admire; working with Swarovski is an honour that brings our work to a whole new level.”

“For six seasons and counting, Swarovski Elements has given my collections an extra facet of luminosity and luxury. Swarovski has however, not just provided these collections with a creative ingredient, but has also proven to be a true supporter of my work on many levels.”

Jen Kao
“The Swarovski Collective is an exciting opportunity to explore our love for luxury and embellishment. It has always subscribed to a high standard in unique design and a distinct level of creativity, and we are honoured to be a part of this programme.”

Juan Carlos Obando
“For me, being part of such a group means a lot; it is a validation to our work and craftsmanship. It also gives us the opportunity to have the resources to create collections with the finest pieces and elements.”

Marlon Gobel
“To be part of the Swarovski Collective is a huge honour for me. The Swarovski fashion legacy includes partnerships with the CFDA and iconic designers like Alexander McQueen, who created the idea that clothing can be both an experience and an art form. Most of all, I am especially excited to be the one menswear designer this season.”

“Swarovski is dedicated to supporting directional design and talent. We are so honoured to be a part of their world and to be able to create with their incredible crystal elements.”

The six designers presenting their collections as part of London Fashion Week, Autumn/Winter 2012 said:

“I have worked with Swarovski on every single collection for my eponymous line; it is the finishing touch for the special pieces. To be part of the Swarovski Collective is fantastic as it cements my longstanding relationship.”

“It’s an honour to be a part of something as prestigious as Swarovski. I love Swarovski’s high technical processes.”

Marios Schwab
“Collaborating with Swarovski as part of the Collective again this season means a lot to the Marios Schwab brand. It gives me the amazing opportunity to further explore the use of Swarovski Elements within my collection, taking a traditional element of an embellishment and incorporating it within my designs in a very modern way. Each season challenges the way I use Swarovski Elements.”

Mary Katrantzou
“Working with Swarovski allowed us to realise pieces on a demi-couture level and achieve a level of craftsmanship that has become intrinsic to the brand’s aesthetic. It means so much to me to have their continued support.”
