Nelson Hotels & Inns, the group behind much-loved venues, including Grosvenor Pulford Hotel & Spa and The Fishpool Inn, has offered us a sneak peek inside their latest development, The Manor at Greasby. It is scheduled to open this winter and will provide an upscale gastropub-style restaurant and a luxurious wedding and events barn.
Nelson Hotels & Inns is a family-run, award-winning collection of hotels, restaurants and inns located across Cheshire and its surrounding area. The company is known for having a diverse and unique portfolio, hallmarked by attention to detail and a commitment to excellence. In this feature, we look at their latest addition, The Manor at Greasby, which is likely to become one of the leading hospitality venues in northwest England.
Located in the heart of Greasby on the Wirral, The Manor restaurant will offer great food whilst paying homage to the building’s rich 17th-century lineage. For their fifth venue, the Nelson Hotels & Inns team is working with an award-winning interior design agency known for developing unique venues with leading hospitality brands, including Michelin-starred chef and entrepreneur Tom Kerridge.
The inspiration behind The Manor’s design was to create a premium yet accessible dining concept, and the designers were inspired by the historic character of the building when they set out to create a welcoming, unique and vibrant design which would modernise and elevate the grandeur of the original building.
If all goes to plan, The Manor at Greasby is expected to open its doors this winter. Its restaurant will have a relaxing interior, with a décor featuring rich tones throughout, alongside comfortable plush seating, low lighting and warm colours to create a cosy and welcoming atmosphere for family dining. Like all Nelson Hotels & Inns’ venues, The Manor at Greasby will also be a dog-friendly property.
Guests can choose to relax in the bar area, which will be the perfect place for sipping on the wide-ranging selection of wines and local ales on tap. With ‘opulent luxe’ serving as the key inspiration for the space, the lounge will also feature a stunning back bar fitting to showcase the bar’s impressive offering.
In addition to the main space, the restaurant will boast a beautiful green room with bi-folding doors, flooding the area with light and opening out on warmer days. The garden-inspired conservatory will offer the perfect, airy space for relaxed, semi-al fresco dining, bathed in natural light and accented with delicate florals.
The Manor will also be home to a luxury wedding venue: The Barn at The Manor will be an elegant and rustic space set within the grounds of the 17th-century manor house, accommodating up to 80 seated guests and available for exclusive hire for wedding receptions and special events.
The Barn’s design focuses on delivering an impressive space to serve as an idyllic backdrop for celebrations from day to evening. Historic character and contemporary sophistication combine to create a romantic, elegant space full of rustic charm, with exposed brickwork, parquet flooring, antique mirror finishing and an understated colour palette bringing the room to life. Framed with impressive timber and illuminated by beautiful pearl chandeliers, the key features will create a bright and spacious venue for intimate gatherings and receptions.
Guests celebrating in the lovingly-restored Barn will see their special occasions shine in this stunning space, enjoying plenty of natural light and experiencing an array of elegant venue dressing options. In addition to the impressive Barn itself, the picturesque courtyard at the forefront of the venue will provide a beautiful backdrop for capturing picture-perfect moments and acts as the ideal space for al-fresco drinks receptions and canapés.
