With London currently experiencing some glorious weather and people still looking for ways to extend National Picnic Week, The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences has introduced a new al fresco experience called ‘Picnic in the Park’.

London is a fantastic place to be if you’re conducting business or want every amenity possible on your doorstep. However, one area where the city dips slightly below the mark concerns green space. That being said, England’s capital city does still boast green spaces, and on these hot sunny days, there are few better ways to escape the modern world than to head into Green Park, where you can enjoy a beautifully prepared picnic.

The Athenaeum Hotel & Residences, a five-star hotel in the heart of Mayfair, London, has unveiled its ‘Picnic in the Park’ al fresco experience, which will let people make the best of London’s glorious heatwave.

From a charcuterie platter and pork and apple sausage rolls to mouth-watering macaroons, there is something to suit all tastes.

For those with a particularly sweet tooth, the Afternoon Tea Picnic includes all the classics from the hotel’s quintessential afternoon tea, such as finger sandwiches and scones with jam and clotted cream, as well as a selection of sweet treats prepared by the hotel’s very own pastry chef.

Guests can also choose to add what the hotel calls a Tipsy Upgrade – either a bottle of Champagne or fermented Cider.

For those who wish to extend their experience, guests can book to enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel in a luxurious bedroom or suite with views over Green Park or the character-filled streets of Mayfair.

The hotel’s restaurant, 116 at The Athenaeum, offers an informal setting for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and also serves the hotel’s award-winning afternoon tea. Elsewhere in the hotel, guests will find a bar, spa, and best of all, the tenth-floor residents-only lounge with panoramic views of the London skyline, The View.
