Royal Salute Opts For Total Transparency With 21 Year Old Blended Grain Whisky

With the exception of rare limited editions, Royal Salute’s secrets are held in the flagon until the blended whisky emerges into your chosen receptacle. However, with the shift away from porcelain to glass as part of the brand’s sustainability drive, a Royal Salute 21 Year Old is now available for all to see, whilst still maintaining the same iconic look and feel enjoyed by Royal Salute connoisseurs across the globe.

Royal Salute 21 Year Old Blended Grain is the first Royal Salute 21 Year old to be housed in a fully transparent flagon. Now available worldwide, including in the UK, this expression was previously released solely for Asian markets, such as Taiwan and South Korea, hence it has appeared already on some websites and auction portals.

It is also not the first time that Royal Salute has released a blended grain whisky, as the 21 Year Old Snow Polo Edition debuted this type of blend back in 2019.

Sandy Hyslop testing a whisky blend

Expertly crafted by Sandy Hyslop at the Strathisla distillery, the 21 Year Old Blended Grain combines the finest hand-selected grain whiskies, sourced from some of the most renowned and scarcest distilleries across Scotland, and aged predominantly in American Oak casks for a minimum of 21 years.

Those who sample this high-aged grain whisky will enjoy a perfectly balanced and delicately sweet Scotch, bursting with layers of blossom honey, soft peach and creamy toffee, followed by a long and smooth finish.

The beautiful flagon, which features a gold label and stopper, is housed in a smart cream-coloured box. The interior has been decorated with elegant floral and regal motifs, as well as a blue diamond recounting the origins of Royal Salute.

If you’re looking to gift your loved ones a stunning whisky this festive season, which is perfectly presented in a transparent glass flagon to let its golden hue shine through, Royal Salute 21 Year Old Blended Grain will not fail to impress.
