The Dean Townhouse Becomes Press Up's latest Dublin Based Boutique Hotel

Irish Hospitality Group Press Up is expanding its umbrella with the opening of The Dean Townhouse. The boutique hotel sits next door to the original site, and the Georgian townhouse has been transformed to create the addition of a newly built mews extension, adding an extra 49 bedrooms.

The Dean Townhouse is located on Harcourt Street; the new mews extension boasts a new cocktail bar & lounge, an outdoor courtyard & terrace, and a dedicated event space alongside the extra bedrooms.

Its location will be a major draw as it is just a stone’s throw away from the city’s attractions and is within walking distance to some of Dublin’s cultural hotspots, including Temple Bar, Dublin Castle and the Guinness Storehouse.

With a blend of old and new, The Dean Townhouse bedrooms feature a new signature design, in contrast to the iconic Dean Dublin. It clearly showcases Press Up’s dedication to celebrated artwork and storytelling, and each room is decorated in a distinctive colour palate, from sumptuous reds to earthy greens and calming blues.

The rooms have been specifically designed with furnishings to complement colour schemes and artwork, which includes contrasting fabric headboards and custom-made furniture. They also contain custom-made bouncy beds and top-of-the-range bathrooms. In addition, each room comes complete with power showers, a fully stocked Smeg fridge and munchie trays of Irish goodies.

Guests looking for a tipple after a busy day of sightseeing can head to The Townhouse Bar for hand-crafted cocktails on the heated outdoor terrace. Incorporating the unique historical structure of the building, the boutique hotel brings subtle modern glamour to Ireland’s much-loved city.

The new location doesn’t only cater to culture-seeking visitors but to professionals too. Also on the lower-ground floor sits The Marshall Room, a unique light-filled space fitting 160 seated guests and 280 standing.

What makes it a little different from classic meeting rooms is the space is designed with reclaimed timber from floor to ceiling with a dedicated bar, restrooms and kitchen, paired with plush, luxurious, custom furniture, greenery and stunning artwork, making it a space made for meetings and events with a difference.

The Dean is a hotel brand operated by the Press Up Hospitality Group with locations in Dublin, Cork and Galway. It is one of Ireland’s leading boutique, design-led hotels.

The Dean opened in Dublin in November 2014 as part of a terrace of protected Georgian townhouses. Its opening introduced a new concept in accommodation to Ireland, which is fresh, vibrant, youthful, and creative and will be bringing The Dean concept to Belfast in 2023 and Birmingham in 2024.

Since then, it has long been one of the country’s top places to stay. Each Dean location has a number of unique features, including Sophie’s Rooftop Restaurant and Terrace, luxury POWER Gym, and an art collection which is curated to celebrate local artists.

The Dean Townhouse was opened in late February 2023, and bookings can be made via thedean.ie. Townhouse rooms may be pre-booked with three new Townhouse room categories available (Townhouse Cosy, Townhouse Super, Townhouse Balcony Super).
