Havana Club, the world-renowned Cuban producer of rum, has expanded its prestigious Tributo Collection with the unveiling of the Havana Club Tributo 2021. The now six-strong series was launched in 2016 to celebrate the know-how of the Maestros del Ron Cubano, the Masters of Cuban Rum. Each edition showcases the unparalleled art and passion of blending, brought together by the highly-experienced Maestros.
Havana Club Tributo 2021 follows on from the 2020 limited edition introduced last spring. Created by Asbel Morales, Havana Club’s Maestro del Ron Cubano, the rum has been made using a batch of 100 exclusive Tributo casks and was matured in exceptional Portuguese white port casks from the Douro Valley. The result is a deep amber colour with dark and reddish reflections, notes of cane honey intertwined with raisins and red fruits, which give rise to smooth, dry fruits and floral hints for the final nose.
The flavour is intense and complex on the palate, with a mastered balance between dry fruits and ripe nuts, which combines with more classical sweet chocolate and spices. A long and smooth finish complements this on the palate with pleasant tobacco and coffee flavours.
Priced at €400 and bottled at 40% ABV, the sixth addition to the Tributo series is presented in a luxurious dark wooden box. It has been designed to reflect the opulence of the Tributo Collection, with alluring golden and olive-green accents, reflecting the colours of Portugal where the distinctive barrels were sourced. Each bottle is numbered and personalised with Asbel Morales’ signature, the ultimate badge of quality and superiority.
