Kens Apothecary Opens its New Concept Store at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

Ong Chin Huat popped by to experience the official opening of Kens Apothecary’s brand new concept store at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and, in doing so, made sure that he gave all of his senses a well-deserved treat.

Known as a beauty destination for the world’s most well-known luxury niche independent brands, Kens Apothecary recently celebrated the opening of its new concept store at the Pavilion Mall in Kuala Lumpur – its seventh store in Malaysia – by inviting the beau monde to drink, sip, nibble, test, try, sample and spray the plethora of skin rejuvenating and delectable smelling products and fragrances in its new 990 square foot store.

A look inside the new concept store

Designed with younger customers in mind, the beauty store features neutral tones with industrial elements, creating a modern and elegant ambience. Linear shelves chock-a-block full of brands such as Caudalie, Augustinus Bader, Eve Lom, Jack Black, Diptyque, Oribe, and SachaJuan, among others, make it a delightful place for skin and hair care product lovers, not to mention fragrance enthusiasts.

Among the sweet and sexy fragrance brands on offer, Frederic Malle, Kilian, Goutal, and Maison Francis Kurkdjian commanded the most attention, although new brands like haute perfume Maison Crivelli and luxury home fragrance Fornasetti Profumi look set to become staples in any fashionista’s fragrance line-up.

The main features of the store include a huge table top, featuring 12 feet placed in the centre of the store and a large wash basin, which acts as an invitation for customers to sample and test any of the products on display.

Lighting in the store is also another unique feature which complements the set-up and provides comfort to customers while browsing, while the Rialto Porcelanato flooring gives a firm grip to anyone afraid of slipping while being aesthetically pleasing to the eye, too. A wooden table top facing the entrance draws attention to the highlighted products on display.

Founder Ken Lim (lead image) says the new store heralds a new phase for the brand with customer experience as its focus. “We offer a curated and personalized experience with this store designed for seasonal pop-ups and other forms of activations for better and more intimate customer satisfaction,” he said at the opening.

The new store also cements Kens Apothecary’s continuous effort to revamp and improve its goals of offering the best in niche luxury brands. An example is the digital tablets for customers’ ease of browsing, product sampling and adequate space for customers to walk around, test and experience the products freely.

New brands added to the already multitudinous range on offer include Philip B haircare, an award-winning brand using active botanicals and pure plant extracts, Maison Crivelli, which heralds the philosophy of slow perfume and which collection is designed to be a living experience and Fornasetti Profumi, then ultimate luxury artisan brand with its range of home fragrances.

Ken added, “We want to deliver to our eclectic local customers a luxurious shopping experience unparalleled in the local beauty retail scene….it has always been my dream to bring exceptional names to local customers, and it’s now a reality.”
