Former SAS Soldier Louis Rudd MBE to Lead Shackleton Quests Experiences

British performance-wear specialist Shackleton has launched an experiences division called ‘Shackleton Quests’. These new exciting adventures bring you as close as safely possible to a true polar expedition and are led by record-breaking explorer Louis Rudd MBE.

Being restricted when it comes to travel does not mean you can’t start planning. Some of you reading this will be harking for the sun and a beach, while others will be pining for adventure and something to challenge you.

For the more adventurous among you, the following is sure to tick all the boxes. ‘Shackleton Quests’, has been set up to enable the brand’s community to experience the thrills and challenges of a polar adventure.

Former SAS Soldier Louis Rudd MBE

The quests will be led by Shackleton’s Director of Expeditions Louis Rudd MBE who is a former SAS soldier and record-breaking explorer. The legendary adventurer Sir Ranulph Fiennes didn’t hold back in his praise for the expedition leader, stating Louis “will go down in polar history”.

The first of the Shackleton Quests is scheduled to take place in Finse, Norway in March 2021. Adventurers will be able to choose between the six-day ‘Finse Polar Experience’ which is an introduction to polar travel, or the more demanding ‘Finse Polar Challenge’, a seven-day 80km glacier traverse on skis.

Each Shackleton Quest is limited to six people

It should be noted that on this Finse quest, attendees will be hauling pulks packed with tents, sleeping bags, food and cooking fuel so a high level of fitness will be required. Participants will be camping out in the elements where temperatures will be falling well below freezing. For the thrill-seekers among you, it’s an ideal opportunity to learn the skills needed to survive in some of the toughest conditions on the planet, while staying comfortable in the brand’s performance outerwear.

Louis will be bringing an unparalleled knowledge of polar regions to the Quests, which were designed to build mental and physical endurance, taking adventurers outside of their comfort zone in a stunning environment to discover what they’re truly made of.
