Big JJ Seafood Hot Pot Restaurant Comes to Basehall 02 inside Jardine House

Basehall 02 inside Jardine House has unveiled Big JJ Seafood Hot Pot Restaurant as the latest addition to its celebrated lineup of food vendors. Big JJ Seafood was founded by Peter Pang and Chris Wan in 2020 during the height of the pandemic and quickly garnered a legion of fans thanks to its fun and noisy atmosphere and use of tasty local ingredients.

The restaurant, which is having its soft opening today (Monday 18th December inside BaseHall 02), offers time-honoured teahouse-inspired dishes for lunch and dinner. Its menu has been designed to bring a range of authentic flavours, which includes favourites such as Ah Chun Shandong Dumpling and Kamcentre Roast Goose, plus many other local flavours created with traditional culinary craftsmanship.

Big JJ’s lunch menu, which is available from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm, features a selection of hearty meals served with a drink, including BaseHall 02’s exclusive Henry’s Tomato Curry Ox Tongue with Rice (HK$88), Pork Chop, Fried Eggs, Soy and Scallion Sauce with Rice (HK$88), Fried Sole Fillet with Corn Cream and Rice (HK$78) and Sausages with Luncheon Meat, Fried Eggs, Soy, and Scallion Sauce with Rice (HK$68), providing a comforting and satisfying midday meal.

For those seeking a quick but fulfilling lunch or snack break, the 11:00 am to 4:30 pm menu offers Set A, Macaroni in Cream Soup (HK$68); Set B, Macaroni in Tomato Soup with Tender Hanger Slices (HK$78); and Set C, Macaroni with Tender Hanger Slices in Satay Sauce (HK$78), providing a taste of the chaa chan teng experience.

As the sun sets, Big JJ’s invites diners to savour the essence of Hong Kong with an array of dishes from 6:00 pm onwards.

The dinner menu features Signature Tender Hanger Iron Grills (HK$248), Supreme Mixed Iron Grills (HK$228), Tomahawk Pork Chop Iron Grills (HK$188), Fried Chicken Fillets Iron Grills (HK$188), and Fish and Chips (HK$188) prepared in the classic Hong Kong style. All dinner meals are served with JJ’s special homemade gravy, Borscht soup, unlimited French fries and a drink.

In addition to the culinary offerings, patrons can also enjoy an array of non-alcoholic beverages throughout the day, including coffee, milk tea, Ribena, lemon tea, Chrysanthemum honey, watercress honey, and lemon coke, among others. Special wines by the glass will be available to complement the rich flavours of the grill dishes during dinner.

JJ’s will start their lunch and dinner service offering in BaseHall 02 from 18th December onwards.
