My final night at The Datai was one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had in any resort.

My final night at The Datai was one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had at any resort. It was a private dinner hosted by The Datai Langkawi and presented by Chef Wan on the private Datai Bay Beach. Just as the sun was about to set, cocktails were served at the Beach Bar while we admired the orange and red-hued sky while the sun dipped slowly behind the horizon.

When it was time for dinner, we walked a few feet away on the beach to a beautifully decorated long table set on the sand. There couldn’t be a venue more romantic or glamorous than this. While feasting on Kalio Udang (Friend prawn in local spices), Ayam Percik (Spicy grilled chicken) and Kerabu Pucuk Paku (Traditional Malay salad) and washed down with Riesling GG, Morstien, Wittmann 2012 and Neudorf, Nelson, Tom Block Pinot Noir 2012, all of us chatted away and enjoyed ourselves tremendously under the stars and warm evening air.
