IWC’s Unique Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calender – Edition “Le Petit Prince” will be Auctioned at Sotheby’s Geneva on 12th November with the proceeds to benefit the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation.

Seven decades after the first publication of “The Little Prince” – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s bestselling book, Auctioneer, Sotheby’s in conjunction with IWC will offer the Unique IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calender – Edition “Le Petit Prince” in an auction of Important Watches, with the proceeds contributing to the construction of a school and library in Cambodia via the Youth Foundation.

The unique watch in platinum with a midnight blue dial will be auctioned together with a limited re-edition of the first printed copy of The Little Prince in English and a facsimile of the original manuscript in French. Since the first publication of the book, it has now been published in 270 different languages, selling over 150,000,000 copies around the world.

The Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition “Le Petit Prince” fuses elegance and mechanical craftsmanship of the highest order. The new special edition is packed with technical highlights, including the impressive IWC-manufactured 51613 calibre with Pellaton winding and 7-day power reserve. The latter’s display in the counter at “3 o’clock” is a constant reminder of the movement’s high efficiency. It generates enough energy to fuel a wealth of watchmaking complications, such as the perpetual calendar with its four-digit year display as well as displays for the date, day and month. All the displays are easily adjusted via the crown and advance automatically.

The current suggested retail price of the watch is CHF 78,000, the watch is being sold for charity an therefore there is no estimate.
