An Exciting Culinary Programme in Mauritius is Announced for 2023

Heritage Resorts has announced an exciting programme of culinary events in Mauritius throughout 2023 at Heritage Le Telfair and Le Chateau de Bel Ombre in southern Mauritius.

The leading UK Mixologist Mix.Mann and several Michelin-starred chefs will host special cocktail-making master classes and gastronomic dinners at the hotels. In addition, and sure to garner considerable attention, is the special epicurean week focused on sustainable cuisine, particularly highlighting quality local produce and talented local chefs.

UK Mixologist Visit

Harp Mann, AKA Mix.Mann

Harp Mann, AKA Mix.Mann, a Mixology Consultant and Cocktail Innovator, is visiting Heritage Le Telfair on 21st April 2023. He will create a new signature cocktail for the hotel, run a cocktail competition with the bartenders, and host a master class on cocktail-making with hotel guests.


Guest Chef Programme
The Guest Chefs confirmed for 2023 so far, with more to be added, include:

Chef Franck Putelat and Thibault Sombardier

One Michelin Star French Chef, Thibault Sombardier (above right), will be cooking at Heritage Le Telfair on 5th May and at Le Chateau de Bel Ombre on 6th May 2023. Thibault Sombardier, 37, is a chef of his time mixing haute cuisine with a more uninhibited cuisine and environment. A finalist on the TV series Top Chef, Thibaut now works within the 5* hotel Pavillon du Faubourg Saint Germain, in Paris, in the restaurant “Les Parisiens”.

Two Michelin Star Chef Franck Putelat (above left) will be visiting from 19th to 26th November and cooking dinners on Friday, 24th November at Heritage Le Telfair and Saturday, 25th November at Le Château de Bel Ombre. The chef himself describes his cuisine as “classical fiction” that takes the classics of gastronomy in a new direction, transporting dishes to another era.


Sustainable Culinary Week: 7th to 17th July 2023

Under the patronage of a French Michelin-starred chef (name to be announced shortly), the event is the premier sustainable epicurean festival on the island, spotlighting Bel Ombre as a culinary destination – promoting local chef talent alongside the diversity of rich agricultural offerings in the region.

Guests can expect signature lunches and dinners by the top Michelin-starred chef, cooking master classes, a visit to the market with the chef and a sumptuous gala dinner with a 7-course menu in the enchanting setting of the Château de Bel Ombre.

Heritage Le Telfair – This five-star plantation-style all-suite hotel provides luxury accommodation for couples and families whilst delivering a high level of personal service. A “Small Luxury Hotel of the World,” the hotel is also popular with golfers, who get complimentary access to the Heritage Golf Course and those seeking wellness experiences.

Rates start from £221 per person/night for two adults and two children up to 11 years old sharing a Deluxe Suite on a Bed & Breakfast basis.
